I had a Dr appointment on Friday. I woke up on Friday morning at about 5am not feeling the best. I felt like I was having contractions one after another and couldn't sleep. So, I finally got up at about 6am. I figured since I was going to the Dr that morning I would just try to relax and see how things went. Luckily Jeff came with me to this appointment. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor again and the babies did wonderful as usual, but I had quite a few contractions while they monitored me. Then, the dreaded blood pressure machine....my blood pressure was up pretty high again. A lab test that they did on my liver was also elevated. All of these weren't horrible, but when you put them altogether it was cause for worry. The Dr wanted to admit me to the hospital. Since I was only 29 weeks they wanted me to go to Abbott, but since they were pretty sure the babies didn't need to come out yet, I asked if I could stay at Methodist. For those of you that don't know, I work for Park Nicollet and Methodist is their hospital, so I just felt much more comfortable going there.Luckily the on call Dr was ok with that. The Dr made it sound like I would be there until I delivered and she thought that would be within a couple weeks or so.
Once I was in the hospital and laying on my side I was feeling so much better. The contractions had pretty much stopped and my blood pressure was coming down. They monitored me over night and ran some more tests. The did an ultrasound on Saturday and since everything looked good they sent me home! I am so glad, I was really dreading having to stay there for 2 weeks or more. I didn't realize that laying on my side really helps with the blood pressure. I'm on moderate bed rest which means I can shower and make myself food and that is about it. It will be to my advantage to lay on my left side as much as possible to keep my blood pressure down. They said I definitely have mild pre eclampsia. I really need to be careful and hope that I can make it another 2 weeks. Then I can have the babies at Methodist, if for some reason I have to go before that we will have to go to Abbott which will be best for the babies because children's is connected to Abbott.
I have an appointment on Wednesday to do the growth of the babies, I will be sure to post their weights.

Hey Trisha!
I was getting a little nervous with no posting since the 16th. It sounds like you have some really great doctors. I am thinking of you all the time and praying that all goes well. Take care!

Hey Trisha!!
I know it's tough to be on bedrest. I was on it for three weeks before Blake was born. Just relax and take it easy. You will be really busy once the babies are born. Take care!!

Yeah, Trisha!
Hang in there! The babies are growing, and probably starting to wonder what is all going on. Soon there will be so much for them to see and do and learn. Enjoy a moment of peace and silence, it won't be too much longer! Jayne
