I had a Dr appointment on Monday. I had planned to start working half days and then go home and rest the other half. Well, my body had other plans.
At this appointment they watched the babies movements and watched them take breaths. They had to take so many breaths and make so many movements in a certain amount of time. They all passed! Addyson did wonderful, she's practicing her breathing very well. The other 2 we had to wait a bit for them, but they did it. Then they hooked me up to fetal monitors and a monitor for contractions. This was interesting cause the monitors have to be in just the right spot to calculate their heartbeats. So, here I am trying to hold 3 monitors in place so that we could get good readings. It went well, I didn't have any contractions while I was monitored and the heart beats were all fine.
Then I met with the Dr. I'm measuring at 40 weeks, which they predicted. My blood pressure is a little elevated and there is some protein in my urine. These are things they watch for at every visit. Those 2 things put together with some blurry vision could be signs of pre eclampsia. I don't have it and there isn't any way to prevent it, but resting and keeping my feet up will definitely help things. So, the DR said no more work and take it really easy. So, here I am on the couch all day long. It was a bit hard for me even though I knew this day was coming. I've just been doing so well that I really wasn't prepared for this yet. I started having some blurry vision last week and didn't think anything of it. I thought my contacts were acting up, so I switched to a new pair but I'm still having a little bit of blurriness. Which I didn't know to watch for. So, now I just need to monitor my headaches, which I haven't really had so we are good there. Thank goodness!
The DR also said that elevated blood pressure could slow down the growth of the babies and with one baby (Peyton) being a bit smaller than the other 2 this bed rest thing is just a good idea at this point. So, she made good points and I agreed with her, but it took some convincing :)
We did lots of washing over the weekend, so I feel good that got done. I also have bedding on the cribs. I think gear wise we are pretty much ready. Now, it is just the waiting game. My next appointment in next Monday so I will be sure to post about that one too.
