Growing, Growing and Growing

Everyone is growing like crazy. We went to the Dr today and I couldn't believe how much weight they have all gained. I knew they were getting bigger because the newborn clothes were starting to fit Evan and Addyson really well and the preemie clothes have been getting tight on Peyton. Evan is 8.3, Addyson is 7.4 and Peyton is 5.11! The Dr put the girls on Zantac for acid reflux. It is hard to diagnose in babies, but it won't hurt to try. They are very fussy and sometimes cry while they are eating. I switched their formula, elevated their mattresses and keep them upright all of the time. Evan too even though he doesn't act like they do, I figured it won't hurt. Thanks to the suggestions from a very wise triplet mommy from Iowa.
Life has changed so much it is hard to remember how life was without them. It seems like we are constantly feeding them and changing their diapers. It will be nice when the time in between feedings gets to be farther apart so we can get out more. Thank goodness for my mom and my sister Laura by the way. They have been here everyday helping me. My mom is here in the mornings and then my sister comes in the afternoons.
I go back to work in about 2 weeks and am really looking forward to it. I know I will miss the kids and it will be tough for a bit, but I don't think I could be a stay home mom. Maybe some day Jeff can be a stay at home dad because I know he would love that. I love their daycare provider she is so wonderful. They are going to have a great time with her and she is so excited to have them.
I will try to get some new pictures up. We have tons, we just need to get them onto the computer.

Trisha, I am so happy to hear that the tricks worked, it is just a "pay it forward" thing, now you will have to find a triplet mom and help her through the same! It sounds like everyone is doing so well, they are gaining weight wonderfully, despite their eating issues. Hopefully the formula switch will show even more improvement. That acid stuff is not any fun, just imagine what we feel when we have heart burn!! Please call any time...I love to help, the next hurtle we need to get you over is sleeping through the night and moving them to eating every 4 hours... enjoy and love them everyday..no matter what...ha ha

Trisha, My girls take Zantac as well. We had it grape favored to cover the mint taste and they actually love it (although I think it still tastes nasty... we taste everything that they eat). Acid reflux is not fun. Sarah actually started to get a hoarse voice from her acid reflux, but the Zantac helped that as well. Your children are beautiful. I love the photo session. They are gaining weigh wonderfully. We were fortunate that our girls came home from the NICU on a 4 hour feeding schedule. I cannot imagine a 3 hour feeding schedule. Hang in there. Although it seems impossible now, they will eventually sleep through the night before you know it.

Take care,
Kelley (Gracie, Ellie and Sarah's mom)
